There are three goals for a cloud company, keep the speed fast, have more than enough redundancy, and your backups work. Redundancy covers simple issues, like when one server in the network goes down, the other servers pick up the slack. Backups are for catastrophic issues, like a storm, power outages, and other events, like software corruption. Redundancy and backups work hand in hand and are equally as important.
Perfectware redundancy and backup systems are continually updated as new technologies emerge. The goals of our system are zero downtime and zero loss of data. We have redundant hardware; software, servers, firewall, switches, cooling, power, and Internet connections. Recently we have added redundant backups and operations in multiple data centers, located throughout the United States. Every hour a snapshot / picture, is taken of our servers and stored on devices located in our data center. Throughout the day these snapshots are encrypted and sent to the other data centers. At any given time, if an issue arises in our main data center, in just a few minutes, operations can resume at one of the other data centers.
Summary:
- Local Backup device for recovering files
- Backup images sent to two locations
- Data is Encrypted at local device before sent
- Offsite data centers available for business continuity in case of issues with main data center operations.
